Just a quick post to say that the second alpha of the forthcoming Ubuntu release, Lucid Lynx (10.4) is now available. The final release is scheduled for April 2010.
Some of the new features and changes include:
- Linux kernel 2.6.32-10.14
- Latest GNOME desktop environment
- Latest KDE SC 4.4 RC 1 desktop environment
- Full removal of HAL decreasing boot/resume times
- Inclusion of Likewise (Active Directory) authentication support
- Improved support for nVidia proprietary graphics drivers
- New features for Ubuntu Enterprise Cloud (UEC)

UPDATE: Just a quick update to say that I've installed the latest Alpha 2 image of Ubuntu Lucid Lynx (10.04) on a spare partition on my work laptop. So far so good, in that it seems quite stable, and some nice improvements to Nautilus, the Gnome file manager tool.

Update: Installed It Now
Just a quick update to say that I've installed the latest Alpha 2 image of Ubuntu Lucid Lynx (10.04) on a spare partition on my work laptop. So far so good, in that it seems quite stable, and some nice improvements to Nautilus, the Gnome file manager tool.
